While you keep piling on the SPF keep these easy, do-it-yourself hydrating masks to cool off this season:
SKIN GLOW TONIC
Ingredients:
Water melon juice – ¼ cup
Orange juice – ¼ cup
Carrot juice – ¼ cup
Lime – 4 drops
Honey – 1 tablespoon
Method:
Pour all of the ingredients in a glass bottle and place it in a refrigerator for 5 minutes. Apply the tonic all over your face and neck and let it dry. Once it dries, apply a second coat over it. Let it also get absorbed by the skin. This cooling mask helps supply the skin with necessary vitamins and honey helps moisturise the skin. After it dries up, wash off the mask with lukewarm water followed by cold water splashes.
SUN BURN PACK
Ingredients:
Hung curds – 2 teaspoon
Pure watermelon juice – 4 teaspoon
Soaked almond paste – 6 teaspoon
Method:
Mix all the ingredients and apply on the face and neck as soon as you return home after a day out. This pack helps to brighten the skin and removes tan effectively.
REFRESHING EYE PACK
Ingredients:
Water melon, grated – small amount
Cucumber juice – 2 teaspoon
Method:
Summer makes the eyes red and watery due to extreme heat. Cool the eyes by applying watermelon as an eye compress or simply place a slice of watermelon on closed eyelids daily for 5 minutes. Simply applying cucumber juice or coconut water also helps hydrate and cool the skin.

SUMMER COOLANT FOR THE SKIN
Ingredients:
Oatmeal – ½ Cup
Watermelon, grated – 1/4th cup
Cucumber, grated – 1/4th cup
Method:
Mix all the three ingredients to make a paste. Apply a thick coat on your face. Lie down and relax with this for about 10 minutes. This is a great and refreshing coolant for the skin. Those with heat boils and rashes also benefit from this pack.
